END OF THE YEAR MADNESS!!
What a great day we had for the river clean up. We had a decent turn out. We'd love to see more Tigers and Wolfs for our activities. Lori and Leigh did an awesome job organizing the ice cream social. The webelo II's did a great job showing the younger boys how to get super muddy playing in the creek.
We will be doing a big plea for volunteers at our last pack meeting. We are in desperate need of new leadership for the coming school year. The first position that needs to be filled is Popcorn Kernal. Orientation for new Kernals for the Ft. Hamilton District is July 30th, at Butler Tech. All positions are open so feel free to jump in with both feet and help out. Now is the time to do it while experienced leaders are there to help you find your way. There will be sign up sheets at the last pack meeting along with job descriptions.
If you aren't going to Summer Camp, the district has a great Day Camp program that the boys can participate in and get the same experiences as Summer Camp. See Ron for information if you are interested in Day Camp. There is one at Harbin Park in June, and one at Timberhill in July. Remember cub scouts doesn't end when the school year ends. There is at least one activity per month during the summer.

Camp-out Update, and Last Pack Meeting
We are coming up on our last pack meeting of the year. It's hard to believe. Seems like after the Blue and Gold banquet time flys super fast and before you know it, it's time for the spring campout.
Speaking of which I hope everyone has had some time to check out the pictures. The boys and parents had a lot of fun. Timberhill proved to be super nice, private and safe for the boys. Friday night is always fairly quiet, since a lot of families usually wait and come out on Saturday morning. The Sextons ginormous tent was too big for the super cool tent platforms so their tent was pitched on the ground down in a valley, near the platforms. A few other families utilized the platforms on Saturday. Everyone else decided not to drag their stuff down the huge hill and chose to pitch their tents on higher ground.
Saturday Morning we had some bacon and pancakes, and then headed out on our first ever Letterboxing expedition. These weren't actual Letterboxes, we planted 4 boxes with treasures for the boys to find in teams. We have since planted a Pack 969 Letterbox in the place of Team #1's box. The boys (and one girl) enjoyed the hunt, and all got keychain flashlights when they found their box. Saturday afternoon we drug the boys out of the creek for the Space Derby.
Ron Sexton built an impressive track, and the boys had a lot of fun testing it out. All who participated recieved a patch. Saturday night we utilized the small Amphetheater, and the boys performed spontaneous (very spontaneous) skits they made up. They also performed actual skits they have been doing for a few years. Joey and his brother were kind enough to teach us a couple new ones. The webelos led all the boys in a grand finale of "We're all in this Together" from High School Musical. The rest of the night was enjoyed by the campfire eating S'mores and Camper Pies.
Looking forward to seeing everyone at the last Pack Meeting of the year on May 20th. Be thinking about how you'd like to be more involved next year, and consider joining us at the Planning Meeting in July when we plan for the whole school year.
